Md. Sakib Anjum, a student leader and young professional from Rajshahi, became a martyr of the July Uprising of 2024. He died while protecting fellow students during violent attacks on protestors. His story, carried by his parents and wife, reflects the compassion, courage, and sacrifice of a generation fighting for democracy.

Summary

On 5 August 2024, during the historic July Uprising in Rajshahi, Md. Sakib Anjum, a dedicated student of Varendra University and a young professional at Organic Care, became a symbol of courage and selfless sacrifice.

Known for his compassion and leadership, Sakib risked his life to protect fellow students during violent attacks by armed forces and political militants. Shot and fatally injured while shielding others, he was later declared dead at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Sakib left behind a grieving wife, Nishat Salsabil, his parents, Moinul Haque and Rokeya Khatun, and two younger brothers.

In this documentary, we visit Sakib’s home in Talaimari, Rajshahi, hearing from his parents and wife about his dreams, bravery, and the fateful day that changed everything. Their words honor a young life devoted not only to family and work, but to justice, democracy, and reform.
